Concert: Haydn full blast

Sunday 23.8.2020
11:00 am / 2:00 pm, Dorfplatz Saanen [2 shows]
In case of bad weather, the event will take place at the Hotel Landhaus Saanen.

Out of fashion and ordinary, “Papa Haydn”? Not if you really listen to his music - to his humor, his finesse... and the rhythm! The father of the classical symphony and string quartet is at the heart of the new educational project devised by the Pumpernickel Company and its team, combining musical discovery and corporal expression, composition of a musical piece in Haydn’s style or even writing of a rap inspired by Haydn and his music. Workshops, flash mobs, and finally two performances on the Dorfplatz in Saanen: such is the nine-month program that awaits the pupils and students from Biel, Gsteig and Basel selected for the adventure, to offer a Haydn “full blast” to the population at the end of it.

Today's Music

Sunday, 23 August 2020
6 pm, Gstaad Festival Tent

(Good) music, as is well known, knows no borders. Mozart and urban music are thus made for each other! The success since 2013of the “Breakin' Mozart” show, created by German director Christoph Hagel, is a striking example of this. Hagel, who has made these great crossover shows his trademark – such as “Flying Bach” seen by more than 300,000 people in 27 countries –, invites singers and break-dancers from the DDC Dancefloor Destruction Crew, a company founded in Schweinfurt in 1999 in the midst of the urban “battles” wave and that made its international debut thanks to Mozart himself!
