Basel and Zurich: two top chamber orchestras

For many years, the Gstaad Menuhin Festival has been fortunate enough to count on the steadfast collaboration of two of the country’s best chamber orchestras.
Once again, the Kammerorchester Basel will assuredly delight the soloists with whom it will be playing: Sol Gabetta and Olivier Darbellay (on Alpenhorn!) on 22nd July, Julia Lezhneva (in Baroque love songs) on 4th August, and Jean Rondeau (in a Bach “festival”) on 11th August.
For its part, the Zürcher Kammerorchester will be sharing the stage on 29th July with a true legend of the Viennese piano: Rudolf Buchbinder. The programme? Mozart.
