We have a huge desire to experience live concerts again, and the need for direct, physical contact with the artists is immense. It is imperative that these needs be satisfied once again!
It is therefore with particular joy and hope that we can show you the programme of our 2021 Festival today. Your safety is important to us and is our top priority. Thanks to the implementation of carefully thought-out precautionary measures, we are confident that the utmost has been done to ensure your concert experience is safe and secure.
In the wake of the successful 2018 and 2019 editions, we are continuing our journey through music capitals and making a stopover in LONDON.
The eclectic nature of our programme is reflected in the wide range of artists invited summer: alongside the major stars of the classical music scene and the musicians with whom we have forged close ties over the years, we will experience sensational debuts and promising reunions, such as those of piano legend Maria João Pires, the mysterious Alice Sara Ott, the queen of coloratura Lisette Oropesa or tenor Javier Camarena, discovered last season.
Our successful “Menuhin's Heritage Artists” and “Matinée of Young Stars” series, dedicated to the next generation of artists, will also feature such fascinating personalities as violinist Bomsori Kim, media favourite Alexandre Kantorow and the magical touch of pianist Marie-Ange Nguci.
Welcome to Saanenland, and enjoy the many opportunities on offer this summer – be it at concerts or at the academies – to rediscover the wonderful sensations of music by taking part in the Gstaad Menuhin Festival & Academy 2021!
Yours truly,
Christoph Müller, Artistic Director
