Seasons Recomposed
You are certain to have heard Vivaldi’s «Four Seasons», but are you familiar with Astor Piazzolla’s «Seasons», which were inspired not by European skies but by those in Buenos Aires? Or the «Seasons» by post-minimalist composer Max Richter? Or Hadyn’s «Seasons», which do not feature a solo violin but a complete choir in an oratorio?
During its opening weekend the Gstaad Menuhin Festival 2018 will present all these works under the vaults of the church in Saanen.
Three concerts featuring Daniel Hope and the Zurich Chamber Orchestra (Vivaldi, 13.7), Paul McCreesh and his Gabrieli Consort & Players (Haydn, 14.7), and Andrés Gabetta and his eminent Cappella Gabetta (for the tango version, 15.7).
